Deliberate

1. To deliberate is to carefully consider and analyze all sides of an issue. For example, juries deliberate: the members of the jury discuss the evidence that has been presented during trial in reference to the law in the jury instructions and come to a conclusion as to whether or not the prosecution has proven its case against the defendant.

2. A deliberate act is intentional and premeditated. In criminal law, a homicide that is deliberate is generally punished more severely than a homicide that has been committed unintentionally and without premeditation.
