Crime against Nature

A crime against nature is sexual conduct for purposes other than procreation. It is a dated term that has been applied to a variety of sexual activities, including, homosexual acts, fellatio, cunnilingus, anal sex, bestiality and necrophilia. Most states have repealed their crimes against nature statutes. Additionally, the U.S. Supreme Court case of Lawrence v. Texas held that consensual sex between adults in private is protected by the Constitution and therefore cannot be criminalized under "crimes against nature" laws.
