Abortion
An abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. An abortion can be spontaneous or intentional. A woman's right to an intentional abortion arises from the Federal Right to privacy, which emanates from the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The Due Process right associated with 14th Amendment is also referred to as Substantive Due Process. Substantive Due Process refers to liberty-based due process rights, as opposed to procedural rights (e.g., the right to an abortion versus the right to be free from an illegal search and seizure.)
