Colposcope

A colposcope is an instrument used to examine a vagina (by a physician or a nurse performing a sexual assault exam) to detect sexual injuries. It is a microscope-like instrument in that it magnifies the vagina between 5 and 30 times. It provides binocular vision to the user. The colposcope is also a camera and the nurse or physician can take pictures of the vagina and document any sexual trauma.
