Armed Robbery
The California Penal Code definition of Robbery is the taking of property from another against their will by means of force or fear. When force involves a deadly weapon it is Armed Robbery. California criminal law defines “deadly weapon” very broadly and includes knives, daggers, brass knuckles and nunchucks, plus many more items, including box cutters and tear gas or the defendant's own fist, if used to harm someone. Armed Robbery is charged as a felony in California.
