Breathalyzer
A Breathalyzer is a device used to administer a breath test when a person is suspected of driving while intoxicated (DUI/DWI). A breathalyzer measures the blood alcohol content (BAC) of a person's breath. If the Breathalyzer test is administered correctly, the result of the test is admissible evidence. Breathalyzer is the trade name of the most popular instrument used to measure blood alcohol level by breath; however, the term is now generally used to describe any instrument that does the same. There are many different kinds of machines that measure BAC, e.g., the Intoximeter. See also, Breath Test.
