Defensible

Defensible means capable of being defended or justified. For example, in 1878, the U.S. Supreme Court held that polygamy is not defensible as an exercise of religious liberty. The defendant in this case had argued that it was his religious duty to marry multiple times. See, Reynolds v. United States, 98 U.S. 145 (1878).
