Visiting Hours

You may visit an inmate at the Wayside Jail, ("the Jail"), only on a Saturday or Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. except for holidays. You may visit an inmate at the Jail on the following holidays even if they fall on a week day: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If a holiday falls on a week day, a visitor may visit an inmate for an additional half-hour. Visits are available on a first-come first-serve basis and you should arrive at least one hour before the desired visiting time. Many visitors camp out near the Jail the night before their visit to the Wayside Jail. The Wayside Jail is operated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Attorneys may visit the Wayside Jail, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Clergy, bail bondsmen and attorneys who must arrange visits should contact the Watch Commander at one of the numbers above.

Visiting Procedures

Inmates at the Wayside Jail may have one hour of visitation each weekend, which must be split into two one-half hour visits. Only three (3) persons may visit an inmate at one time. Minors (persons under the age of 18) may visit inmates but they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless the inmates make a special request they be permitted to visit unaccompanied by an adult. An unaccompanied minor must be twelve years old or older. An infant or toddler (a lap child) may not be counted as a visitor.

Visitor Restrictions

Only visitors with a valid ID may visit inmates at the Wayside Jail. Officers at the Jail may deny visitation rights to anyone for many reasons. Visitors with outstanding warrants, traffic or parking tickets should not visit the Wayside Jail, as they may be subject to immediate arrest. Ex-felons, persons on probation and persons formerly incarcerated in State prison must contact the Watch Commander of the Facility they intend to visit to first obtain approval to visit an inmate at the Wayside Jail. All visitors may be subject to record checks and random searches.
