Environmental Crime

An environmental crime is a violation of environmental legislation – legislation put into place to protect the environment. For example, environment crimes include buying and selling endangered species, illegally dumping industrial waste into bodies of water and illegally emitting pollution in the air or ground. Environmental crime is also referred to as “crime against the environment.”
