Criminal Justice System

The criminal justice system is a network of criminal courts and institutions that handle the enforcement of criminal law. This system generally has 3 components: 1) law enforcement (police), 2) judicial (prosecutors, defense lawyers and judges), and 3) corrections (jails, probation, parole and correctional officers).
