Visiting Hours
You may visit an inmate at the Santa Monica Jail, which houses male and
female inmates, Monday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Visiting
hours at the Santa Monica Jail are subject to change without notice. Therefore,
you should contact the Santa Monica Jail prior to your scheduled visit
to verify visiting hours and to make sure that the inmate that you are
seeking to visit is eligible for visits. You can reach an officer at the
Santa Monica Jail, ("the Jail"), at any time by calling 310-458-8482.
Attorneys, clergymen and bail bondsmen may visit the Santa Monica Jail
at any time for as long as they like.
Visiting Procedures
Inmates are allowed to have one 15 minute visit per day. Although only
two (2) persons may visit an inmate at one time, a child will not be counted
as one of the two. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Visitors' Restrictions
Only visitors with a valid ID will be allowed to visit inmates at the Santa
Monica Jail. Officers at the Jail may deny visitation rights to anyone
for any number of reasons.
Telephone Access & Mail
During booking, the person being held in the Santa Monica Jail, ("the
arrestee"), may make three free telephone calls. Arrestees/Inmates
may not receive calls or phoned-in messages, but may make one (1) phone
call per day once housed. If local, daily calls can be placed by inmates
for free. An arrestee/inmate will be housed at the Santa Monica Jail for
no more than 96 hours, excluding holidays and weekends. Therefore, inmates
may not receive mail.
