Pitchess Detention Center – North County Correctional Facility (NCCF)
is located at 29340 The Old Road, Castaic, California, 91384. Visitor
parking is available in the Dr. Elmer T. Jafee lot. A shuttle bus to the
facility is available from this lot. Visitors must complete a “request
for visit” form with their name and information along with the booking
number and name of the inmate. Typical visitations are at least four hours
in length, so visitors should plan accordingly.
Visitors are permitted to visit with an inmate at NCCF (also called the
Wayside Jail) on Saturdays and Sundays between the hours of 8:00 A.M.
and 3:00 P.M. Because visits are available only on a first come, first
served basis, visitors should plan on arriving at the facility at least
an hour before their desired visiting time. Many visitors camp out near
the facility the night before their visit.
Visits are permitted on the following holidays regardless of the day of
the week: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor
Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. If any of these holidays fall on a weekday,
the visit may be extended by 30 minutes.
Attorneys may visit NCCF Monday through Friday between 10:00 A.M. and 8:00
P.M. Clergy, bail bondsmen, and attorneys who wish to arrange a visit
should call (661) 295-7810 to speak with the Watch Commander.
Visitors to NCCF must present a valid ID in order to visit an inmate.
Facility officers have the authority to deny visitation rights to anyone
for a number of reasons. Visitors with outstanding traffic tickets, parking
tickets, or warrants for their arrest should not visit the facility as
they may be immediately arrested. Former state prison inmates, persons
on probation, and ex-felons must first obtain approval from the Watch
Commander before they will be permitted to visit an inmate at NCCF. All
visitors may be subject to random searches and record checks upon entering
NCCF inmates are permitted one hour of visitation each weekend. Each visit
must be split into two 30-minute visits. Inmates are limited visitation
with only three people at one time. An infant or toddler may not be counted
as a visitor. If a minor under the age of 18 wishes to visit the inmate,
they must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. However, the inmate
may make a special request that they be allowed to visit with a minor
without a parent or guardian if the minor is 12 years of age or older.
Telephone Access & Mail
At the time of their arrest, an arrestee is permitted three free phone
calls during booking. Once housed, they can make unlimited collect calls,
but may not receive calls or phoned-in messages.
