The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department provides law enforcement
services to the City of Palmdale by contract. Located in the center of
north Los Angeles County, the Palmdale Sheriff Station Jail temporarily
houses both male and female arrestees and trustee inmate workers (inmates
who are serving out their sentences at the Jail).
750 East Avenue Q, Palmdale, California, 93550. Free parking is available
in the Palmdale Sheriff Station's parking lot.
The Palmdale Sheriff Station Jail ("Jail") may hold an arrestee
up to 96 hours, if the arrest falls on a holiday and/or weekend, before
an arrestee must appear in court. You may visit a non-trustee inmate worker
at the Palmdale Sheriff Station Jail Monday through Sunday from 12:00
p.m. to 4:00 p.m. You may visit a trustee inmate worker on Saturday, Sunday
and holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Palmdale Sheriff Station Jail has a stated policy regarding inmate
visitation which may vary depending upon the activity occurring at the
Jail when you plan to visit. Therefore, you should always contact the
Jail before visiting.
Non-trustee inmate workers are permitted one 15 minute visit per day. Although
all inmates are limited to two (2) visitors during a visitation, all visits
with non-trustee inmate workers are by video phone. Parents are urged
to use their discretion when bringing a child to visit an inmate at the
Jail. A child will be counted as a visitor unless the child can be seated
on a lap. School age children, like adults, should be prepared to produce
a valid photo ID.
While attorneys and bails bondsmen may visit an inmate at the Jail any
time for as long as they like, they should be prepared to present a valid
photo ID, a California Bar card, if applicable, or proof that they are
authorized to do what they claim to do. Regular visiting hours apply to
members of the clergy.
Visitors can obtain information about an arrestee/inmate at the Palmdale
Sheriff Station Jail by calling 661-272-2499.
