Located four miles north of the
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the Marina Del Rey Sheriff Station Jail ("Jail") temporarily
houses male and female arrestees for the community of Marina Del Rey as
well as inmate trustees serving out their sentences. The Marina Del Rey
Sheriff Station Jail is operated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's
Department and serves the following areas: Marina del Rey, Santa Monica
Bay, Ladera Heights, Windsor Hills and View Park.
Visiting hours for arrestees and inmate trustees vary. You may visit an
inmate at the Marina Del Rey Sheriff Station Jail who has not been sentenced,
Monday through Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. You may visit inmate
trustees who are also known as worker trustees on Saturday, Sunday and
on holidays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Marina Del Rey Sheriff Station Jail's visiting hours and roster
of inmates who are eligible for visits vary and are subject to change
without notice. Thus, you should always call the Jail before visiting.
You can reach an officer at the Marina el Rey Sheriff Station Jail at
any time by calling 310-482-6000.
Attorneys and bail bondsmen may visit at any time for as long as they like.
Members of the clergy should contact the Watch Commander to arrange for
visitations that are outside the normal visiting hours.
Typically, inmates at the Marina Del Rey Sheriff Station Jail are allowed
one 15 minute visit per day. However, upon request, the amount of time
allowed for a visitation may be extended. The Jail permits both arrestee
inmates and trustees to have up to 3 visitors during each visitation.
Although children may visit inmates at the Jail, like adults, they are
counted as visitors. All members of the general public must visit with
arrestees/inmates via video phone conferencing.
Only visitors with a valid ID will be allowed to visit inmates at the Marina
del Rey Sheriff Station Jail.
Officers at the Jail may deny visitation rights to anyone for any number
of reasons. Persons on probation may be allowed to visit while those on
parole may not. For more information regarding this matter, would be visitors
should contact the Watch Commander.
Telephone Access & Mail
During booking, the person being held in the Marina Del Rey Sheriff Station
Jail, ("the arrestee"), may make three free telephone calls
to persons of their choice and one bail conference call. Arrestees/Inmates
may not receive calls or phoned-in messages. Inmates may be allowed to
make collect calls if circumstances permit.
Pre-sentenced inmates will be housed at the Marina Del Rey Sheriff Station
Jail for no more than 48 hours, excluding holidays and weekends. Thus,
you should avoid sending mail to a pre-sentenced inmate at the Marina
