Federal Public Defender

A Federal Public Defender is a lawyer employed by the federal government. A Federal Public Defender represents defendants accused of committing federal crimes who cannot afford an attorney. Typically a Federal Public Defender represents defendants in cases involving bank robbery, drugs, counterfeiting, mail or wire fraud, immigration, pornography, theft, immigration, homicides, money laundering and terrorism.
