Drunk Driving
Drunk Driving refers to the crime of driving under the influence (DUI). DUI or Drunk Driving is the offense of operating a motor vehicle in a physically or mentally impaired condition, especially after consuming alcohol or drugs. A showing of complete impairment or intoxication is not required. State law specifies the level of blood alcohol content at which a driver is presumed to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor. In California, a driver with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher is presumed to be under the influence. DUI is generally charged as a misdemeanor in California unless there is an injury or fatality involved.
