Cumulative Evidence

Cumulative evidence provides more evidence of something that has already been established. California Evidence Code section 352 allows the court to exclude otherwise admissible evidence that is needlessly cumulative. For example, if 50 people saw a shooting, and each witness would each give substantially similar descriptions of the shooting, it would be a needless presentation of cumulative evidence if all 50 people testified at trial.
