Culpability

Culpable is another term for guilty. For example, in many of the sexual abuse cases involving priests, the bishops have claimed they were not culpable for the sexual misconduct of the priests in their parishes. To determine a defendant's culpability for the charged crime(s), the jury applies the facts presented to the applicable criminal laws.
