Chambers

Chambers (also referred to as “Judge's Chambers”) refers to the judge's private office. It is usually located next to the courtroom and typically includes working space for the judge's law clerks and secretary. For example, if Judge Smith asks the prosecutor and defense attorney to meet him in chambers to discuss the possibility of a plea bargain, he is directing them to meet with him in his office.
