Criminal Defense Attorney

A criminal defense attorney (or criminal lawyer) is a lawyer whose practice includes representing a substantial number of defendants in criminal matters. The term criminal defense attorney is generally understood to mean a privately hired attorney, as opposed to a court ordered attorney, who is called a “Public Defender.”
