Capital Case

A Capital Case (also referred to as a “Death Penalty Case”) is one that involves a crime that can be punished by the death penalty. For example, if a defendant is on trial for first degree murder, the prosecutor might ask the jury to determine that the defendant should be put to death for the crime.
