Beagle Castro Motion

The Beagle-Castro Motion is named after two California Supreme Court cases: People v. Beagle (1972) 6 Cal.3d 441 and People v. Castro (1985) 38 Cal.3d 301. A criminal defense attorney or Public Defender would file a Beagle-Castro Motion if he or she wanted to keep the defendant's prior felony convictions from being used to impeach (contradict) the defendant.
