Bail Bondsman

A Bail Bondsman is a person or company that gives and guarantees a bond. A bail bondsman puts up a bond (a guarantee or promise to pay) essentially guaranteeing the defendant’s appearances in court. Should a defendant not appear in court then the bondsman will pay the court the bail previously set by the court. A defendant who fails to appear in court essentially has jumped bail (or skipped bail) and may find that the Bail Bondsman has hired a bounty hunter to bring him/her into court.
