Bailsman

A bailsman is a person who promises the court that he or she will pay the bail amount if the defendant fails to appear in court. A defendant who fails to appear in court may find that the bailsman has hired a bounty hunter to bring him/her into court. See also Bail, Bail Bond, Bail Schedule.
