Bad Check

A bad check is one that the bank will not honor because of insufficient funds or because the account does not exist. In most states it is a crime to write a check on an account with nonexistent or insufficient funds. A bad check is also called a hot check, NSF check, bounced check, rubber check, insufficient check, or bogus check.
