Attempted Murder

Attempted murder requires a specific intent to kill and the commission of a direct but ineffectual act toward accomplishing an intended homicide. Implied malice, which is a conscious disregard for life, suffices for murder but is not enough for attempted murder. Transferred intent also does not apply to attempted murder.
